Carlo Morici authored a paper on this Cuban palm species in the October 1996 issue of Principes; this photo is also on the rear cover of that issue. Photo copyright 1996, Carlo Morici. Coccothrinaxyunquensis is from the top of one mountain of southernCuba and has no local common names, although some locals call it Yuraguana del Yunque (Yuraguana means small-sized Coccothrinax) (Carlo Morici, pers. comm.).
