Gaussia attenuata (Cook) Beccari

This is an endangered species from Puerto Rico and is quite rare in cultivation. Its most distinguishing features are an abruptly attenuated trunk (just below the crownshaft) and a sparse crown. It is distantly related to the spindle and bottle palms.
